Pioneer Valley Air Monitoring Network
Concerned about air quality and asthma?
Join the Healthy Air Network Advisory Committee and help shape the future of clean air in our communities.
Air pollution is a major asthma trigger, and local monitoring is key to protecting public health. The City of Holyoke partners with the Healthy Air Network, a coalition of public health professionals, community organizations, municipalities, and resident leaders from Springfield, Holyoke, and Westfield, working together to improve air quality across Massachusetts.
Our coalition meets monthly to discuss:
- How air quality is impacted by transportation
- Extreme heat and wildfire smoke events
- Health impacts of air pollution
- Where to expand our network of air sensors
- Building climate resilience and advancing environmental justice in Holyoke, Springfield, Chicopee, and beyond
- Sharing and promoting community-led climate and environmental justice initiatives
