Volleyball Bill Awaits Governor’s Signature Text Size

The Massachusetts Senate and House have both voted to designate volleyball as the official team and recreational sport of the Commonwealth. Volleyball was invented in Holyoke, Massachusetts by Dr. William Morgan in 1895.

The bill was originally co-sponsored by State Senator Michael Knapik and State Representative Aaron Vega. Upon taking the seat formerly held by Knapik, State Senator Don Humason took up the cause. The Senate and House unanimously passed the bill.

The Volleyball Hall of Fame is in Holyoke, Massachusetts, where the governor is expected to sign this bill into law.
