HCC Receives Gateway Program Excellence Award Text Size

Holyoke Community College’s Gateway to College Program began in 2008 and has proven to be a model for how we solve persistent problems as a nation, according to Emily Froimson, president of the Gateway national network.

Gateway to College is a dual enrollment program at Holyoke Community College where high school students who have dropped out (or who are significantly off track in their studies) take college classes for credit in both high school and college. These students put forth a tremendous amount of effort to complete the program and most have continued on to college.
