Whiting Reservoir Walking & Bicycle Tour Text Size

Event takes place on October 06, 2018 at 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM
Mountain Park Rd, Holyoke, MA

Join us in a walking & bicycle tour to learn the history and geography of the former roaring brook area of Holyoke.

Whiting Street Reservoir was a farsighted venture in 1888, and was built using horse drawn dump-carts and human muscle power. It served as a Holyoke drinking water supply until the early 1990’s. Whiting and its watershed are an integral part of Mount Tom’s ecosystem and should remain protected from development.
