Registration Now Open for HCC Summer Youth Programs Text Size

From June 24 to August 2, Holyoke Community College offers an exciting array of summer programming for ages 8-17.
HCC has 22 summer programs for youth aged 6 to 17 interested in everything from sports and computers to cooking, engineering and art.
For more than 37 years, Holyoke Community College has offered challenging, summer education activities for youth, providing early opportunities for students to experience a college environment guided and encouraged by experienced professionals.
The 2019 Summer Youth Programs operate for five weeks, from June 24 through Aug. 2. (There is no programming during July 4 week.) All of HCC’s summer programs run Monday through Friday for one week. Except for sports clinics, which end at 3 p.m., all programs run a full day, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Costs range from $169 a week for basketball and soccer clinics to $259-$399 for full-day programs.
All the programs will be held on the main HCC campus, 303 Homestead Ave., except for the cooking and baking classes, which are held at the HCC MGM Culinary Arts Institute, 164 Race St., Holyoke:
June 24-28: Scratch! (ages 8-12).
July 8-12: Graphic Design Using Adobe Photoshop (ages 8-12); Beginning Video Game Design (ages 11-16); Youth Basketball Clinic (ages 8- 17); Wilderness Survival (ages 8-11); Creative Writing Through Dungeons & Dragons (ages 11-14).
July 15-19: Cartooning & Illustration (ages 11-15); Beginning Engineering (ages 10-14); Video Game Design 2 (ages 11-16); Beginning Web Design (ages 8-12); Youth Fencing (ages 10-17).
July 22-26: City & Community Planning Through Minecraft Construction (ages 8-11); Cooking with Chef Dino (ages 9-12); Beginning Baking with Pastry Chef Benton (ages 11-14); iPhone Filmmaking (ages 12-15); Intermediate Engineering (ages 10-14); Youth Soccer Clinic (ages 6-16).
July 29-August 2: Understanding Civilization Using Minecraft (ages 11-15); Upscale Restaurant-Style Cooking with Chef Dino (ages 10-14); Sweet & Savory Baking with Pastry Chef Benton; Multimedia Arts Exploration (ages 8-12); Beginning Video Game Design (ages 11-16).
