Holyoke Invites Applicants to Serve on Planning Board

The City of Holyoke invites interested residents to apply to serve on the City’s Planning Board.

The Board’s responsibilities include reviewing preliminary and definitive plans for building projects by considering public testimony and City department comments in conjunction with the Holyoke Zoning Ordinance.

Among other tasks, the Planning Board is charged with adopting a comprehensive plan and an official map of the city, serving as the local authority for the Subdivision Control Act, adopting regulations governing subdivisions, serving as Site Plan Review Authority, drafting and submitting zoning amendments and, in certain instances, acting as the Special Permit Granting Authority,.

Planning Board members serve five-year terms. The Board meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m.
