Willimansette Bridge Pizza Party Text Size

Event takes place on February 06, 2014 at 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM
18 Cabot Street

Please join Olde Holyoke Development Corp, Nueva Esperanza, Inc. & the Massachusetts Latino Chamber of Commerce after work on February 6 at Capri Pizza to help support your community!

The Willimansett Bridge, which connects Chicopee Street in Chicopee to Cabot Street in Holyoke, has been closed since August 2011. A pedestrian bridge allows people to walk from one side of the Connecticut River to the other. Unfortunately, the small businesses located near the bridge in Holyoke have felt the impact of its closing.

This is an informal get together, at one of Holyoke’s longest established Pizzerias, to enjoy their food, meet at their bar and tables, and give a little time and attention to the impact the closed bridge has on this business right at the foot of the bridge.

We are asking for $25 donations, which will serve three purposes:  1) to pay Capri for the evening, supporting their business, & 2) in support of the full-service grocery store located right across the street, we will buy as many $10.00 C Town gift cards with the remaining proceeds allow 3)  the gift cards we purchase will be given in equal amounts to Kelly School and Morgan School, which serve the Flats and South Holyoke respectively, to be used as they feel best helps students in their neighborhoods.   The financial results of this simple “pay-it-forward” style of community giving will be reported to every donor in a follow up e-mail.

Donations will be collected at the door.
