Children young and old are encouraged to attend a festive and fun re-opening ceremony at Pina Park, on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 3:30 pm. The Park is located on the corner of Center and East Dwight Streets.

Mayor Alex B. Morse had allocated over $150,000 in Community Development Block Grant Funds to remove the old play equipment and replace it with a bright beautiful playscape and swings!

Prior to Mayor Morse cutting the ribbon to officially open the playground, the following organizations will add to the festivities:

El Grupo Folklorico el Coqui, led by Norma Rodriquez, will offer a dazzling set of cultural dances for all to enjoy.

  • A mural will be unveiled by the Connections after school program, which will be stationed at Pina Park! The students in the Service Learning Club at Dean Technical High School created the mural.
  • The Holyoke Boys & Girls Club will also be on site offering up a sumptuous and refreshing treat for the neighborhood children.

Mayor Alex B. Morse will officially cut the ribbon and children will be allowed to play and romp on the sparkling new play structure and swings.

Please call Teresa Shepard, Director of Parks & Recreation if you would like more information at 413 322-5620!

In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will take place on Friday, June 3, 2016 at 3:30 pm.
