There will be a regular meeting of the committee on


 At City Hall in the Council Chamber, on Tuesday October 8th 2019, at 6:30PM

Item 1: Previous Meeting Minutes 

Item 2: Murphy 8/6/19: Ordered that a handicap sign be placed in front of 527 So. Summer St. for Carmen Robles

Item 3: Lebron-Martinez 9/4/19: Lebron-Martinez: Ordered that the City of Holyoke place a handicap parking sign at 11 Center St. for Carmen Roy

Item 4: Holyoke City Council Street Vendor License Application for Mr. Charles Theocles to operate a Food Cart at (location to be determined)

Item 5: Murphy 8/6/19: Order:  that the ordinance committee meet with the building commissioner and the city solicitor to discuss the merits of establishing a fine for property owners who have had their property sealed off blocking a street past a certain period.  There at least a couple of properties which are depriving others of easy access to their homes and businesses, with no immediate solution being proposed

Item 6: Bresnahan 1/15/19:   Ordinance committee review the current vacant and blighted building ordinance by calling in The Health Dept the building Dept. The greater Holyoke landlord association and any other concerned parties to address the ordinance and determine if there is a more business/landlord friendly way to ensure vacant buildings are in compliance with the current ordinance

Item 7: McGiverin 2/19/19: Order that the City Council review and update if necessary Section 102-34 -The Collection of fees;  Fee Schedule of Chapter 102 – Weights and Measures of the Code of Ordinances.  This Fee Schedule was last updated in 1997.

Item 8: Murphy 6/4/19:  Ordered that the contract with Zip Cars be reviewed to determine why the city is not receiving any revenue from this enterprise and what can be changed to make sure the city receives an appropriate payment for allowing this company special parking privileges downtown.

Item 9: Lisi 6/18/19: Ordered that Section 62-37, hours of operation for peddlers and/or solicitors be amended.
