VEN Y CELEBRA! (Come and Celebrate!)

NATIONAL HISPANIC HERITAGE MONTH goes from September 15th to October 15th, giving us a chance to celebrate Latino culture and heritage in mild weather, sunlight, and a beginning of autumn colors. Hispanic Heritage Month was first recognized officially in 1968.

NHHM begins on September 15, a day on which five separate Latin American nations celebrate their independence: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua. Mexico’s Independence Day, September 16, also falls during Hispanic Heritage Month, as does Columbus Day (Día de la Raza) on October 12.

This will be the third year Holyoke, MA, hosts the ‘KICKOFF EVENT’ for celebrations in the area. Please join us on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 15th, at the HOLYOKE HERITAGE STATE PARK. MAYOR ALEX MORSE, will do a Procalmation, followed by live music, dancing, and food.

We are working on the CALENDAR of events related to Latin Culture, happening between September 15th-October 15th in the area. We look forward to get detailed information about events you are hosting, no later than August 5th.

Hasta Pronto!~ (See you Soon!)
