Tom Kass takes us back in time to the career of Tom Browne (1865-1907), who rose from humble beginnings in Holyoke to international fame with his talent for double and triple whistling.  Based on extensive research by his great-grandnephews, James and Tom Kass, the lecture will offer a glimpse into late nineteenth-century musical culture and popular entertainment. Holyoke Public Library Community Room, 250 Chestnut Street.  Free and open to the public.  

Audience is welcome but not required to come in formal dress or period costume (c. 1900).
