City of Holyoke Christmas Tree Lighting & Santa Arrives on the Polar Express Text Size

Join Mayor Alex Morse as Holyoke kicks off the season with the holiday event of the year! This festive event has it all for families and friends to enjoy on the first Saturday in December. Special guests, music, crafts and snacks at City Hall. Santa arrives on the Pioneer Valley Railroads’ Polar Express Train right outside the Merry-Go-Round in Holyoke Heritage State Park. There will be horse drawn carriage rides, hot chocolate, cookies, carolers, music, ice sculpting, merry-go-round rides, and more! Not to mention the lighting of City’s Christmas tree at City Hall. Activities will be at and around City Hall and in Holyoke Heritage State Park. The event is free and open to the public; Merry-Go-Round rides are $2/person. The event will last from 11:00 am to 6:30 pm.

The line up events is below:

11:00 am – 1:00 pm : ages 0-8 with Santa Claus at City Hall

2:30 pm – 5:30 pm: hayrides

3:00 pm : Santa arrives on the train in Holyoke

6:00 pm – Christmas Tree Lighting
