BikePed Committee Walking Assessment Text Size

Event takes place on December 12, 2016 at 10:00 AM until 3:30 PM
City Hall Annex, 20 Korean Veterans Plaza - 4th Floor Conference Room

The Holyoke BikePed Committee will undertake a walking assessment of Appleton Street and the Beech St./Resnic Blvd. intersection with the help of MA Dept. of Transportation, and consultants WalkBoston, Watson Active and Toole Design Group. Holyoke was selected to participate in the MA Dept. of Transportation Highway Safety Improvement Plan – Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety. The safety plan strategy has three components, one of which is the preparation of communities for infrastructure improvements. This assessment will evaluate safety conditions along these routes and provide data to MA Dept. of Transportation for potential grant funding.

The assessment will begin with a brief meeting in the 4th floor conference room at 20 Korean Veterans Plaza – the City Hall Annex, walking Appleton Street, break for lunch and either continue assessing Appleton Street or moving directly to the Beech St./Resnic Blvd. intersection.
