Hattie’s Guided House Tour at Wistariahurst Museum

Please join us for “Hattie’s Guided House Tour” at Wistariahurst on Sunday, Jan. 21, 2024 at 12:30 p.m. at Wistariahurst Museum, 238 Cabot Street, Holyoke, MA (the entrance is on Beech Street, just below the Senior Center) The tour will be of the former Skinner Mansion, now Wistariahurst Museum. Hattie Riley, the Skinner family’s former housekeeper will take you back in time to the Industrial and Gilded Ages in Holyoke and share stories about the Skinner family, the mansion and the City of Holyoke. You will also learn how, not only the family, but the mansion were relocated to Holyoke following one of our nation’s greatest disasters of the time that wiped out 4 villages and killed 139 people in under an hour, and took place just minutes from the City of Holyoke. The preventable calamity was the result of the unregulated excesses of industrialization.
