WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS AUXILIARY POLICE ASSOCIATION, INCORPORATED
The name of the Corporation, founded 19 June 1961, is known as the WESTERN MASSACHUSETTS AUXILIARY POLICE ASSOCIATION, INCORPORATED (WMAPA).
The purpose of the Corporation is to organize Auxiliary Police Units within the four (4) Western Massachusetts Counties of Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden & Hampshire for the interchange of training ideas, to promote a better understanding of Auxiliary Police Services and to conduct educational programs.
For the purpose of the term “AUXILIARY POLICE” it shall include, but not limited to, Special Police and Emergency Management Members.
Membership in the Corporation is open to any individual, in good standing of any local police organization (excluding reserve and regular police officers) as described above. Every auxiliary member of such local auxiliary police organization, whose dues are paid as, hereafter provided, shall be deemed a member of the Corporation. Members of the Corporation who fall out of “Good Standing” with their local police units shall no longer be eligible for the rights and privileges of said membership in the Corporation.
The annual dues for membership in the Corporation shall be $10.00 per calendar year (subject to change from year to year) for each member of the Corporation payable on or before January 31 st of each year. The annual dues shall include, but not limited to, membership and insurance coverage by The Hartford.
