May 19 Event to Showcase Holyoke Fire Department’s New KME Fire Engines Text Size

Captain Anthony Cerruti would like to welcome the media to join State Representative Aaron Vega, Mayor Alex Morse, Chief John Pond, the Board of Fire Commissioners and City Councilors at Holyoke Fire Department Headquarters on Tuesday May 19th at 1:30 P.M. for a proud moment for the fire department and the citizens of Holyoke.

At this event, the City will be introducing the city’s new KME fire engines which were purchased to replace our aging fleet; also our new rescue boat (Marine 1) will be on display. This new boat replace s our previous boat which was damaged during a water rescue on the Connecticut River last year. These purchases would not have been possible without the commitment of the Mayor and the City Councilors and their pledge to make public safety a priority.

State Representative Aaron Vega, who is a strong supporter of the Holyoke Fire Department, was instrumental in securing $20,000.00 in funding for turn out gear to keep our firefighter s safe during fire incidents. Turnout gear sets include pants, coat, gloves and hoods.

All are welcome to attend this event on May 19th at 1:30 P.M. Please help spread the word!
