Save The Stained Glass Windows Text Size

Mayor Alex B. Morse announced a drive to raise $220,000 to restore stained glass windows at City Hall. Mayor Morse has appointed as capital campaign co-chairs former mayor Elaine Pluta, who made the restoration of City Hall’s stained glass windows a major focus of her administration, and Raymond Feyre, who was recently named the St. Patrick’s Day Parade 2015 Grand Marshal.

The 13 original Stained Glass Windows at the Holyoke, MA City Hall are in desperate need of repair. The drive is an effort to raise the money needed to ensure that future generations will be able to experience their beauty and sheer presence. The windows of painted antique glass were designed and made by Samuel West of the Ecclesiastical Stained Glass Works in Boston and installed when City Hall opened in 1876. Restoration involves replacing the broken glass pieces, gluing the window whole and cleaning each window
