Using Irish Records for your Family History Text Size

Event takes place on March 25, 2017 at 11:00 AM until 1:15 PM
Holyoke Public Library, 250 Chestnut Street, Holyoke

Two back-to-back workshop/presentations at the Holyoke Public Library will help those interested in their Irish ancestors dig into the Irish records.
Lisa Dougherty, genealogist-in-residence for the Irish American Heritage Museum in Albany, NY, will first present an up-to-date overview of the records now available online and how to use them effectively. Then, she will explore in more depth the newly-launched collection of Roman Catholic Parish registers available on the National Library of Ireland website. All are welcome, but these presentations will be particularly useful for those who already know their ancestors’ place of origin in Ireland.
Attendees may connect to the Library’s free WIFI and follow along on their own laptops or other devices.
Place: Holyoke Public Library Community Room.
Cost: Free.
Pre-registration recommended: 413-420-8107.
Sponsored by the Holyoke History Room.
