Collection of Delinquent Taxes Text Size

HOLYOKE – City Treasurer Jon D. Lumbra is pleased to announce that the City of Holyoke, for the second consecutive year, has collected in excess of $1,000,000 of delinquent taxes. Prior to Lumbra taking office in 2010, the average collection rate was only $402,186. For those interested, you can view the Tax Title Collection History/Trend document here

“I’m proud of the work that my team has accomplished over the past four years, and, without their hard work and dedication, this success could not have been achieved.”

“I’d like to specifically acknowledge the efforts of Deputy Treasurer, Mark Riffenburg, who, in the past few months, has really stepped up to help us achieve this goal.”

Mayor Alex Morse stated: “Taxpayers are fortunate to have a capable and dedicated team of public servants working out of the Treasurer’s Office.”

With only three weeks left in the fiscal year, $1,042,361 has been collected and returned to the general fund. This does not include the recent success of over $100,000 generated from the second Tax Title Possession Auction that was held in April.
