There will be a regular meeting of the Committee on
Public Safety

At City Hall in the Council Chamber, on Thursday December 15th, at 6:30PM

Agenda:

Item 1: Bartley 9/21/16: Ordered that the City Council invite the new DPW Superintendent to a future meeting of the Public Safety Committee

Item 2: Bresnahan 6/7/16: Order:  Request  that the a representative from the Fire Dept., health Dept. and Building Dept., Planning dept. come before public safety committee to discuss the bed and breakfast that are currently in operation.  Seeing the process that Jays Bed and Breakfast just recently completed to be in compliance with any City or State laws, we need to ensure that other Bed and Breakfast that are currently advertising and are in operation within the City of Holyoke have any and all licenses, are properly zoned and are in fact legitimate.

Item 3: Roman 1/19/16: Ordered that the City of Holyoke centralize and consolidate within the Fire Dept. all lists of empty and abandoned buildings, providing access to its server to any and all other departments who need it.

Item 4: Roman 2/16/16: Ordered that the City of Holyoke Fire Dept. take over as the Emergency Medical Dispatch for the City

Item 5: 9/21/16: Order:  That the Police Department provide the council and public information on statistics on the string of violence and crime occurring in the Churchill neighborhood.  Contact Councilor Roman for specific streets.  Residents and neighbors have grave concerns regarding safety.

 

Item 6: Sullivan 5/3/16: Ordered that the Board of Fire Commissioners meet with the City Council to discuss the ongoing problems with traffic signals.

 

Item 7: McGiverin 11/17/15: Ordered that the Conservation Commission, DPW, and City Engineer, come before the City Council to discuss the potential new access road for University apartments and the wet land surrounding that potential new road.
