Item 1: Jourdain/ McGee 3/15/16: Order: That the Mayor and Police Chief please provide answers to the following questions:
1. Will the city by incurring any costs including travel, hotel, meal or other related expenses related to Chief’s training in Virginia?
2. Please explain what benefits there will be to the city from his attendance at this training including please provide us all program materials and requirements.
3. How will the Acting Chief’s former duties be handled for the 10 weeks he or she will not be doing their Captain duties?
4. Are ther eany other local chiefs attending this training?
Please respond as soon as possible, in wirting and then appear before Public Safety to discuss.
Item 2: Roman 9/21/16: Order: That the Police Department provide the council and public information on statistics on the string of violence and crime occurring in the Churchill neighborhood. Contact Councilor Roman for specific streets. Residents and neighbors have grave concerns regarding safety.
Item 3: Greaney 6/7/16: Order: that the Holyoke Fire Dept or other appropriate agencies conduct an evacuation study for the School Dept offices at 57 Suffolk St. such study should include the serviceability of the outside fire escapes on the building. Also included in the study should be the status and condition of the elevator for handicap accessibility.
Item 4: Roman 2/16/16: Ordered that the City of Holyoke Fire Department take over as the Emergency Medical Dispatch for the City (EMD)
Item 5: Roman 1/19/16: Ordered that the City of Holyoke centralize and consolidate within the fire department all lists of empty and abandoned buildings, providing access to its server to any and all other departments who need it.
Item 6: Sullivan 5/3/16: Ordered that the Board of Fire Commissioners meet with the City Council to discuss the ongoing problems with traffic signals.
Item 7: Bresnahan 1/3/17: Ordered that the Mayor adequately fund the Fire Department to keep all apparatus in service and in operation. This includes the 5 Engine companies and the 2 ladder companies, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year.
Item 8:Vacon 10/4/16: Order: That solar powered lights be added to the stop signs at the Southampton Road and County Rd intersection. The two in Southampton have these lights and are much more visible to drivers and Paint stop lines at each stop sign.
