Agenda:
Tabled Items:

• Ordered that the City look into installing signage on Main St. Informing truck drivers not to use engine braking
• Ordered that United Water look in to the catch basin drainage issues at the corner of Woods Ave. and Frances Ave.

Bartley Ordered: DPW and United Water ensure the drainage system near 207 Fairmont St. can handle the water run-off capacity and take any corrective measures necessary. Recent storms have flooded resident’s home and backyard with water pouring into his property from the street.

 

Item 1: Invitation to the Chief of Police to introduce the new Code Enforcement Officer

Item 2: Update on Crime/Status of hotels housing homeless in the City

Item 3. Soto: Order: That the Chief of Police come before the City Council and provide an update on the plan, if any, to get rid of the prostitution that continues to plague our city streets.

Item 4: Soto: Order: City of Holyoke explore the possibility of creating a regional E911 dispatch call center with surrounding communities. Once implemented, this would save taxpayers millions of dollars a year.

Item 5: McGee: Order: The the City Council require the DPW to do an inspection of the entire Holyoke Library project in order to confirm that all work is up to code, roof leaks, vent leaks etc., have been fixed. Also, that the DPW confirm that all warrantees and resolutions be applied correctly.

Item 6: Valentin: Order: That the City of Holyoke assesses options to improve the crosswalk safety at Hampden and Clinton as soon as possible

Item 7: Order: That the school zone be extended on Homestead Ave to Charles Hill Road and the 20mph sign and any other signs be moved to include the crosswalk at Charles Hill Rd.

Item 8: Jourdain: Order: That all municipal officials (and contractors if at all possible) involved with the Essex House demolition please give the City Council an update and a projected timeline for completion.

Item 9: Bresnahan: Order that the Fire Dept and Building Dept come in to discuss the status of 213-215 Chestnut st. and 108-116 Essex st. as it relates to this building being occupied

Item10: Bartley: That the Holyoke Community College South Access Road, as laid out in the plan prepared by Tighe & Bond Consulting Engineers be accepted as a public way.
