There will be a regular meeting of the Committee on Ordinance on Tuesday: July 8, 2014 at Holyoke City Hall in the Council Chambers at 6:30PM

 

Agenda:

 

Jourdain 3/4/14: Order: an ordinance be created to change the policy regarding vacation leave payouts for non-union employees so that leave is paid on a accrual basis when the employee retires.

 

Planning Board recommendation based on:

Soto 3/4/14: Order: that Section 6.4.6, Signs in Business and Industrial Districts, be amended to include an expanded BH (Business Highway) district classification area allowing up to 200 square feet by right and up to 300 square feet with a Special Permit of the Planning Board (6.4.6.4) for individual business uses having floor areas greater than 25,000 square feet.

 

 

Planning Board recommendation based on:

McGee T 2/4/14: Ordered that the City Council establish a zoning ordinance pertaining to medical marijuana and its associated facilities protecting the public health and safety while remaining consistent under adequate state law, based on the minority report from the Committee on Ordinance

 

Planning recommendation based on:

Alexander 2/18/12: Ordered that the City adopt ordinance language consistent with the majority report the last time the Medical Marijuana issue was before the Council

 

Alexander 4/4/14: Ordered that whereas the Requirements for petition for placement of a speed hump on a city street are both vague and onerous Ordered 78-57 (Speed Humps) be amended as follows:

(a) a definition of “impacted segment” be included such that the impacted segment is defined as 300 feet to either side of the zone proposed for location of the Hump, or to the nearest fully signalized intersection in that direction, whichever comes first.

(b) the words “signed by at least two thirds of the property owners” be replaced by “signed by at least one occupant of at least two thirds of the residential units within the impacted segment”

(c) the words “the impacted portion” be replaced with “impacted segment” (both terms are present in the current language)
